Athlete services

Transportation

The Montreal Transit Services (STM), official Défi sportif AlterGo carrier, offers a shuttle service to the athletes and sport delegations who have purchased a package or paid for the transport. This shuttle service offers transportation from the airport to the hotel and between the various competition venues and accommodation sites.

(This service is not available for school sports.)

Attention: The transportation of Défi sportif AlterGo is only available to people who stay in one of the official hotels of the event.

The cost of transportation is included in the accommodation, food and transport package, for those who have not purchased a package and wish to use the shuttle service during the event must pay the $30.00 fee per person in the registration form.

To reserve your transportation between the airport and your hotel as well as request transportation during the event between your hotel and the competition venue, you must complete the transportation form sent to you via email once your registration is complete. The shuttle service is unavailable between 11:30 pm and 6:00 am.

Attention: You must fill out and send a reservation form before the event. Otherwise, you must arrange your own transportation at your expense.

School sports Transportation

For the 6th year in a row, Be your best project is offering schools the opportunity to seek reimbursement for a portion of their expenses relating to transportation to the competition venue. Transportation expense reimbursement form

Accommodations

The Défi sportif AlterGo works in partnership with 3 establishments:

Hotel Universel Montréal, Delta Montréal Hotel and Sandman Hotel Montreal-Longueuil to offer athletes outside the Montreal area accommodations that meet their needs at affordable rates.

Meals

Over the course of the event, volunteers and athletes can enjoy quality meals thanks to Compass Group food services. Healthy and full meals are served at every competition venue.

If you are interested, it is possible to order lunch boxes that will be delivered to your venue. To do this, you must complete the lunch box order form, return it to Compass Group by email at 47421@compass-canada.com and await a confirmation to finalize your payment. To help us improve this service, please send your order before April 8th, 2016.

Sports lounges

The sports lounges are the favourite hangout of both athletes and volunteers during the Défi sportif AlterGo. With a relaxing ambiance, enjoy good company and great music. Cold drinks and snacks are available. The lounges are located at various competition venues and hotels.

Sports physiotherapy

During the event, professionals from Kinatex Sports Physio are on hand to help injured athletes or volunteers should the need arise. The therapists offer services such as bandaging for athletes and consultation regarding warm-up and stretching exercises.

Technical aids and emergency repair service

The Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal (IRGLM) provides athletes with a technical aids and emergency repair service (wheelchair, orthoses and prostheses) available between 9am and 9pm throughout the duration of the event.

Please note: If the device does not belong to the RAMQ, CSST or the SAAQ, the athlete must pay the cost of emergency repairs on their devices.
