Transportation
The Montreal Transit Corporation (STM), official Défi sportif carrier, offers a shuttle service to the athletes and their companions and to the volunteers, from the airport to their hotel and between the various competition and lodging sites.
Accommodations
The Défi sportif works in partnership with three establishments – Hôtel Universel, Delta Montreal and Hôtel Sandman to offer athletes coming from outside the Montréal area accommodations that meet their needs at affordable rates.
Meals
Over the course of the competition, volunteers are provided with quality meals. Thanks to Compass Group food services, delicious complete hot meals are served at every competition sites.
Sports physiotherapy
During the event, professionals from Kinatex Sports Physio are on hand to help injured athletes or volunteers should the need arise. The therapists offer services such as bandaging for athletes and consultation regarding warm-up and stretching exercises.
Massage therapy
Massage therapy is offered free of charge to athletes and volunteers at all competition and accommodation sites. This much-appreciated service is provided thanks to the generosity of the Association of Professional Massotherapists of Quebec.
Sports lounges
The sports lounges are the favourite haunts of both athletes and volunteers during the Défi sportif. Cold drinks and snacks are available. The lounges located at the various competition sites are also the place to be for a number of medal ceremonies. Sports lounges are also set up at each of the accommodation sites.
