From April 27th to May 3rd 2015 it is the Défi sportif AlterGo event. Défi sportif AlterGo is presented by Hydro-Québec. 5000 elite and upcoming athletes with disabilities, surpass themselves in 14 sports. 5000 victories; 5000 stories.

Athlete services


The Montreal Transit Services (STM), official Défi sportif AlterGo carrier, as well as the Réseau de Transport de Longueuil (RTL) for the south shore offers a shuttle service to the athletes and sport delegations, from the airport to their hotel and between the various competition venues and accommodation sites.

(This service is not available for school sports.)

Attention: The transportation of Défi sportif AlterGo is only available to people who stay in one of the official hotels of the event.

To reserve your transportation between the airport and your hotel as well as request transportation during the event between your hotel and the comptetion venue please complete the following form. Please note that if you have more than one arrival or departures please write them all in the same form (maximum 5 per form).

For optimal use it is suggested to use the Google Chrome browser to open the Google form. With Internet Explorer, please use version 9 or a more recent version or contact services@defisportif.com.

To only request transportation between your hotel and the competition venue during the event please send your request to services@defisportif.com.

Attention: You must fill out and send a reservation form before the event. Otherwise, you must arrange your own transportation at your expense.

School sports Transportation

For the 4th year in a row, the Be your best project is offering schools the opportunity to seek reimbursement for a portion of their expenses relating to transportation to the competition venue.

The Défi sportif AlterGo works in partnership with three establishments: Hôtel Universel Montréal, Delta Montréal and Sandman Hotel Montreal-Longueuil to offer athletes outside the Montreal area accommodations that meet their needs at affordable rates. If you would like to reserve a room at one of the following 3 hotels, please follow the desired link, complete the form and return it to the contact listed on the form.

To make a hotel reservation, please select the correct form: (if you want to make a reservation at the hotel, send the form directly to the address identified at the bottom of the same form). If you are reserving an "accommodation / meal package", please send your form to services@defisportif.com.

Over the course of the event, volunteers and athletes can enjoy quality meals thanks to Compass Group food services. Healthy and full meals are served at every competition venue.

If you are interested, it is possible to order lunch boxes that will be delivered to your venue. To do this, you must complete the lunch box order form, return it to Compass Group by email at 47421@compass-canada.com and await a confirmation to finalize your payment. To help us improve this service, please send your order before April 10th, 2015. For your last minute needs, you can order lunch boxes by completing the form 48 to 72 hours in advance.

Sports lounges

The sports lounges are the favourite hangout of both athletes and volunteers during the Défi sportif AlterGo. With a relaxing ambiance, enjoy good company and great music. Cold drinks and snacks are available. The lounges are located at various competition venues and hotels.

Sports physiotherapy

During the event, professionals from Kinatex Sports Physio are on hand to help injured athletes or volunteers should the need arise. The therapists offer services such as bandaging for athletes and consultation regarding warm-up and stretching exercices.

Technical aids and emergency repair service

The Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal (IRGLM) provides athletes with a technical aids and emergency repair service (wheelchair, orthoses and prostheses) available between 9am and 9pm throughout the duration of the event.

Please note: If the device does not belong to the RAMQ, CSST or the SAAQ, the athlete must pay the cost of emergency repairs on their devices.
