The swimming competition at the Défi sportif includes races of all categories covering distances from 25 to 200 metres. Swimmers with an auditory, physical, psychiatric or visual disability are grouped according to gender and disability. Thus, freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, back and relay are part of high level competition. mpétition relevée. Saturday's event is governed by Special Olympics Québec and practised by athlete with an intellectual disability. The competition is including the same races and distances. Competitors are grouped according to gender and qualification times.

Transportation :

Once again this year, athletes and accompanists can use a free of charge shuttle service during the event, courtesy of STM (Société de Transport de Montréal), the official carrier of the Défi sportif. Further more, athletes arriving from out-of-town can request transportation from the airport, train or bus station to their hotel.
