On March 16, between 12 :30 and 1 pm, a new webinar will be offered free of charge to school representatives in order to supply them with tools to work on fundamental motor skills in children with coordination disorders and delays in motor development. Dr. Mariève Blanchet and Khristina Aquin, final-year student in the kinesiology bachelor at UQAM, will present a game they have created to allow these children to practise basic motor skills in a regular group in physical education and experience success! The adaptations to the game apply easily to all gymnasiums in order to broaden the practice of the game and its benefits.
Mariève Blanchet is a doctor in human kinetics specializing in biomechanics and neurological disorders. She is a lecturer at Université de Montréal (UdeM) and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) as well as a research scientist at INÉDI – Expertise et recherche en design industriel. Her specialization, her added skills in sports medicine and her interest in sensorimotor development have enabled her to develop a unique expertise. For the last 15 years, she has been specializing in brain development and believes in the importance of development in youth through fun physical activities.
