So that you can be easily identified, you will be given a volunteer T-shirt in the Défi sportif colours at the time of your accreditation. Those assigned to Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard for many days in a row will have the possibility to have it washed and pick up a clean one the next day.
Aside from identifying you, your accreditation gives you access to various services offered (meals, salon sportif [sport lounge], massotherapy, closing evening).
For all new volunteers, there will be Mandatory basic training on Défi sportif AlterGo and about welcoming disabled persons.
On Sunday April 29th 2012, there will be a closing evening to celebrate the end of the Défi sportif AlterGo along with athletes. It will feature food, music, surprises and door prizes.
Every year, the Défi sportif organizers acknowledge the dedication of people who have been taking part in the event for 5 and 15 years. An evening of recognition honours them in the fall following the Défi sportif.
A massotherapy service is proposed free of charge, outside of your duty periods, on the competition and lodging sites. The service is graciously offered by the Professional Massage Therapists Association of Quebec.
The sports lounges are favourite haunts among both athletes and volunteers, where they can find cold drinks, snacks and entertainment. Come have a drink, chat with your peers or attend certain medal ceremonies, all in a relaxed atmosphere. The lounges are located at most competition and lodging sites. Looking forward to meeting you there!
Thanks to Compass Group food services, delicious hot meals are served at every competition sites, according to the number of hours worked.
