The 35th edition of Défi sportif AlterGo will be held from April 23 to April 29, 2018. The event brings together over 6,000 elite and up-and-coming athletes from across Québec and over 15 countries, regardless of their deficiency. Competitions are held at seven venues located in Montréal and its surroundings.

This 35th edition is outstanding because of the diversity of sports on the program and the number of competitions sanctioned by national and international federations.

School competitions

Over 5,000 young athletes with functional limitations representing over 100 schools and rehabilitation centres across Québec will take part in five days of competition in ten disciplines. Along with the most popular events and sports, of which ball hockey and the mini-marathon, Défi sportif AlterGo 2018 offers a new experience: a CrossFit competition!

Other sports offered

Over the years, Défi sportif AlterGo has earned an international reputation for its programming. This year, the event will host the Boccia World Open and the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup, among others.

In sledge hockey, Défi sportif AlterGo will host the selection camp for Canada’s national development team. Selected players will face the United States development team during a tournament.

The schedule also includes competitions organized in collaboration with Special Olympics Québec and provincial and national sports federations.

Chantal Petitclerc Classic

Défi sportif AlterGo is also proud to announce the very first edition of the Chantal Petitclerc Classic in para-athletics. The competition includes track events for athletes from across Canada in all categories.
