Défi sportif AlterGo is looking for 1200 volunteers to spread joy, celebrate victories and inspire pride and actively contribute to the success of the event, which will take place from April 26 to May 5, 2019. People wishing to volunteer can sign up now.

Volunteers play an essential role in various sectors of activity. There are opportunities to get involved at the reception, with transportation, in setting up the sites or even on the protocol team for medal ceremonies. You don’t need to be an expert in the field you have chosen because members of the Défi sportif AlterGo team will offer training that explains each role in detail. Come live an unforgettable, rewarding and empowering experience with us!

Volunteers are needed from April 23 to May 8, 2019 at various sites in Montreal and the South Shore:

  • Aréna Howie-Morenz
  • Aéroport de Montréal
  • Aréna Maurice-Richard
  • Centre sportif Édouard-Montpetit
  • Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
  • Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard
  • Complexe sportif Duval Auto
  • Hotel Delta Montreal
  • Hotel Universel Montreal

In addition to discovering a wide range of new sports, volunteers will have the opportunity to meet some 7000 up-and-coming and elite athletes. It will also be an opportunity to meet new people and experience moments of intense emotion! You can even share the excitement with your friends and family, since it is possible to request being assigned to the same activity as someone you know.

How to Become a Volunteer:

Volunteer Guide and Training

After completing your registration, you are invited to read the Volunteer Guide. This document was specially designed to prepare you for your participation in Défi sportif AlterGo. It is important to read it before showing up on your first day of volunteering!

Furthermore, general and specific training will be offered to all volunteers in order to familiarize them with Défi sportif AlterGo and prepare them for specific tasks. Training on the appropriate behaviours to adopt when interacting with a person with a functional limitation is also provided.

More than just Volunteering!

As a way of thanking them for their time and dedication to the success of the event, each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and accreditation card. A meal is also offered to volunteers who work a minimum of 5 consecutive hours. Not to mention the volunteer party that will take place after the event. It’s a special opportunity to highlight all the work we achieved together!

Volunteering with Défi sportif AlterGo means being at the heart of the action of a sporting event unlike any other in the world, and contributing to the social inclusion of people with functional limitations.
