Défi sportif AlterGo’s spokesperson Hugo Girard will take part in a charity boxing match to help raise funds for the largest annual multisports event in Canada.
The strongman, businessman and TV host will face off against former fighter and UFC’s official French voice Patrick Côté.
This will be Girard’s first time into the ring.
The Girard vs. Côté exhibition fight is part of an event that Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) will present on September 20, 2019, at Centre Pierre-Charbonneau, in Montreal.
For the event’s local grand finale, Francis Lafrenière and Francesco Bruno Cotroni will rumble in a Canadian or North American title bout.
This will also be a revenge match for the two, who have had a previous encounter in 2012.
AlterGo’s CEO Maxime Gagnon is pleased that the event has associated with the Défi sportif AlterGo. “Proceeds from this evening will contribute to the development of athletes with disabilities and the advocacy for their inclusion in sporting events,” he notes.
September 20’s fight card also features:
- Danyk Croteau (middleweight)
- Jan Michael Poulin (middleweight)
- Wilfred Seyi (Rio Games athlete),
- Corinne Laframboise (flyweight)
- Alexis Barrière (heavyweight)
- Adam Dyczka (heavyweight)
- Alexandre Beaulé (Light heavyweight)
- Alexandre Roberge (cruiserweight).
Tickets to the event are on sale on Ovation’s website.
