Health measures
1. Is the vaccination passport mandatory to be a volunteer?
No. According to government guidelines, the vaccine passport would no longer be required as of March 14, 2022, if the epidemiological situation remains stable. However, the organization strongly recommends that all volunteers be adequately protected. This guideline applies to all participants.
2. What other health measures must volunteers follow?
All participants, including volunteers, will be required to wear a procedure mask to cover their nose and mouth. The mask may be removed during meals and snacks and must be changed during the day. Masks will be provided by the organizing committee for the duration of the event.
In addition, a physical distance of one meter is recommended at all times. Regular hand washing or disinfection will be required, as well as the respect of signs and traffic regulations.
3. Is it safe to volunteer at the AlterGo Challenge?
4. Will all participants be adequately vaccinated?
No, the removal of the vaccination passport as of March 14 applies to all participants: athletes, volunteers, officials and coaches, accompanying persons, spectators and other participants. Vaccination status will not be checked at the entrance of the competition sites or hotels.
5. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER MY VOLUNTEER WORK?
For symptoms that develop before or after the event, contact the Volunteer Management Team as soon as possible (514-933-2739, ext. 228 or benevoles@altergo.ca). We will find a replacement for you or notify those with whom you have been in closer contact.
For symptoms that develop while you are volunteering, contact your team leader promptly. Immediate action will be taken to limit the spread.

FORMATIONS AND POLICIES
13. Are there information and training sessions for volunteers?
Training about interactions with people with functional limitations is also offered.
In some cases, additional specific training is required so that volunteers can be fully efficient on site.
The time and place of the general volunteer meeting will be specified in the schedule confirmation email.
14. Are the general and specific trainings mandatory?
Specific training is required to ensure smooth running of activities in a given area. In some cases, you might not be able to perform all the tasks of your assigned position if you did not get specific training.
However, no volunteer will be expelled for not following either training.
