Award Ceremony from Club de la médaille d’or
It all starts with a dream. The dream, one day, to be at the top of one’s sport, to be on the top step of the podium. However, many hopeful athletes do not reach their full potential because of a lack of adequate support. You are invited to attend the presentation of the very first bursary for several up-and-coming Quebec athletes. This is a great opportunity for you to recognize these young people who represent our future Quebec champions. Sandra Sassine, Olympian in fencing and President of the Gold Medal Club, will have the pleasure of having you meet some of these up-and-coming athletes and of presenting them with a bursary entitled « Ma première bourse, mon premier coup de pouce ».
Panel : Défi sportif AlterGo – De la relève à l’élite presented by RDS
Athletes of all levels will come together to talk about their experiences at the Défi sportif AlterGo, the importance of the Défi sportif AlterGo and the importance of sport in their lives. Host Nancy Audet will be joined by panelists Chantal Petitclerc, spokesperson for the Défi sportif AlterGo, Marylou Martineau, member of the national boccia team, Woody Belfort, wheelchair basketball athlete and Jonathan Daigle, young parahockey prospect.
The popular mini-marathon will be presented under a different format! Participating schools will organize their own mini-marathon at their own school. The athletes of the Défi sportif AlterGo mini-marathon will run distances of 1 or 3 km in wheelchairs, on tricycles or on adapted bikes.
Panel : En route vers les Jeux paralympiques presented by Loto-Québec
Paralympic athletes are showing boundless strength and discipline. The panel will reveal how athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders have experienced the postponing of the Tokyo Paralympic Games and what preparations are required in the current context. Hosted by parahockey player Jean Labonté, this panel will be composed of Mario Delisle, national coach of the Canadian boccia team, José Rebelo, member of the national paravolleyball team, and Catherine Gosselin-Després, executive director of the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
